Putty A GUI and command line SSH client for secure communications and remote control.

PuTTY is a free implementation of Telnet and SSH for Windows and Unix platforms, along with an xterm terminal emulator. It is written and maintained primarily by Simon Tatham.

The latest version is beta 0.61.

LEGAL NOTICE: Use of PuTTY, PSCP, and Plink is illegal PSFTP in countries where encryption is outlawed. I think it's legal to use PuTTY, PSCP, and Plink PSFTP in England and Wales, and in many other countries, but I'm not a lawyer and therefore if in doubt should seek legal advice before downloading it. You may find this site useful (which is a survey of cryptography laws in many countries), but I can not vouch for their accuracy.

Use of the Telnet-only binary (PuTTYtel) is subject to any law cryptography.

Google confusion list 17/05/2010

Several users have reported to us recently that Google's top hit "putty" now is not the official site of PuTTY, but a mirror which used to be on our page of Mirrors.

The official website of PuTTY is still where it always has been:
